Focus on What You Can Control: Growth in the Quiet Seasons
Focus on What You Can Control
Everything in life happens for you or against you — and sometimes it feels like both at once. It’s never easy. But when things get harder, that’s when it matters most to focus on what you can control.
Lately, I’ve been feeling stronger, even though I’m still not quite myself. Life has been so hectic that some days I feel like I’ve completely lost track of time.
The Power of Looking Back
I recently took a moment to pause and reflect on the progress I’ve made. Even in seasons where it felt like nothing was moving forward, change was happening beneath the surface.
Change has a funny way of showing up. It starts slow and quiet — so slow that it feels like nothing is happening at all. Then, out of nowhere, it snowballs and becomes impossible to ignore.
Trusting the Slow Seasons
I still have days where I feel like nothing is happening. But I remind myself that this is exactly when it’s most important to keep going. To focus on what I can control, no matter how small it feels.
Whether it’s a single workout, a walk outside, a nourishing meal, or simply taking a moment to breathe — these small actions matter. They add up in ways we don’t always see right away.
